How do I get a rabbit to climb the ramp in his cage?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009
tara h asked:

My rabbit has lived in a one story cage his whole life (he is about 4 yrs old)….I recently bought him a rabbit condo with two stories. I thought he might be a little scared at first but this is worse…..I have tried putting him on the top floor so that he will have to eventually come down, ….didn’t work. I tried using food. I tried walking him up the stairs, …no matter what, he won’t do it on his own…..

Have you had this problem? If so, how did you fix it….Will he learn over time or be afraid the ramp forever?

What’s the best way to introduce a new rabbit to your pet rabbit?

We have a 6 year old male, neutered velveteen rabbit. I would like to get a cage companion for him. I’ve read that generally its easier for a male/female to get along then male/male. So, I would like to get a young female bunny. What is the best way to go about introducing a new bunny?

Why is our rabbit daily rearranging the hay in her cage?

Sunday, January 4th, 2009
JH ♥ ASL * 愛万多 asked:

It seems for the past while now she is daily pushing her bedding around, stacking it in one corner or 2 corners and leaving the bottom of the cage almost bare in one spot.
Any explanation for this? Maybe because it’s getting warmer or to protect herself?
She’s a very strange rabbit, but is this normal?
Also it’s VERY messy!
Oh, it’s very messy because she kicks it around and pushes it out through the bars…. = /
Emmy: She cannot be pregnant because she never goes outside and there are no other rabbits in the house, do you know why she would do this though she is not actually pregnant? I read somewhere about pseudo-pregnancy, do you know anything about it.?
Thanks.

Also her cage has a plastic bottom and just a regular outside, plastic, the top opens and the front, see through.
Oh and it’s plastic like bars that makes up the top of the cage and the issue is not so much with her going to the bathroom, she just pushes the hay/bedding around all the time.

One of my two rabbits jumped out of its cage,it lives outside. It can run fast,so any suggestions on getting it back?
But it’s in the backyard and still in the backyard and has plenty of tall grass to eat,but I don’t know about the water cause then it’ll just run away.Thanks.
I’m not sure what’s its favorite food but I think it’s wheat bread.

Which breed of rabbit do I have? What all do I need for a rabbit?

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008
Geetika S asked:

I own a white, medium sized,a bit furry male rabbit whose about 4yrs old. I need to know what breed it is. Also, there is no specialized vet nearby, so I have no idea of what accessories to put in his cage. Presently, I have a wooden cage for him which is big enough for him to stretch and walk four to five steps. However, I read somewhere that rabbits should not have a cage above the ground and that they must be free to walk out of it. So, I was thinking of changing it. What bedding do I need? What accessories should I put and how do I make a litter box? What is the alternative for hay (as it is not available here)? I need to know if lettuce is o.k. for an everyday snack.

16” x 25 inches
Im not sure, it was supposed to be a rabbit cage but i guess it doesnt really make a difference, right? i was looking into CC cages but..argh. i already have it and everything. i think i might just keep my guinea pig in there for awhile and let it get used to me and the house, then get a bigger cage? or would this make it get confused? IM SO CONFUSEDD.
i know its small. lol. guess im making a cc cage.

Monday, April 14th, 2008
Ayumi asked:

I was trying to put her in her cage, so I removed the top and right when I was going to put the top on, she decided to jump out _ not a very high fall, but when she fell, her teeth started to chatter and now she won’t let me pet her or anything and I need to put her into the cage, so what do I do to make her feel safe and not scared ?
